When I bought my '79 from Ron Ramsden in Chicago he included a bunch of old magazine reviews of the XS11...original brochures and letters he'd written to various companies inquiring about performance specs and modifications.
here's one he wrote to H.P. International about a NOS system they were putting on bikes in the late 70's and early 80's Get a load of this old letter and the results they got from a NOS'd Eleven Bagger!

What was even more intriguing to me was what they said about the "almighty" CBX and how it didn't have the "guts" to handle a NOS setup with out serious mods to the engine. That should be a huge indicator of just how "overbuilt" the old Eleven really was. Besides...do you realize how much juice that Eleven bagger had to be making to turn a high 10 E.T.? The computer says 125 to 130 at the rear wheel!
Now consider this...that Eleven must have been ginning up 150+ at the crank.
PS: Ron is a good friend of Craig Vetter. Here's a shot of him with Craig and brother forming a windshield with body weight.

Small world huh?
