What is the difference in the carburators on the 80G and the 80SG?

I would not expect that there were any. My manual covered all 80 models, with a supplement for the specials (SG, LG) and I do not recall any differences in the carbs . . . most differences were electrical.

There are some differences, the standards have the outer caps chromed.....the special has a mount for the octopus....The jets are different. 110 all across for specials....the standard had 110-115-115-110, IIRC. Check the carb tips there is a chart that shows jetting. If you question is 'can they be swapped'...the answer is yes. Other than the main jets there is no mechanical difference. The jets were made that way to allow extra cooling (fuel-richer is cooler) to the center two cyls. They did this on standards since they figured all the heavy duty touring would be done on loaded standards (i think).
