  • that little ping when clutch cable starts to go

Yep yesterday I felt a strand let go. Today I took it apart and sure enuff it was starting to break down at the handle. Lubed it, took the bike to go see about finding one locally. Man I forgot how quick they break once they start. I am getting too old to ride in traffic without a clutch but I did make it home. Oh well ordered another one off ebay I just hope the guy ships quick. The weather is just too nice not to ride specially with our long winters.

Had the clutch cable break on my ole 650 right at the handle. Back when you could carry a pocket knike with out being arrested, I wittled a hole thru the handle, readjusted the cable, stole a licence plate nut and bolt and stuck the cable and bolt in the hole ( about twenty miles from home)and to this day I think it is still that way....will have to see if the guy still has the bike 20 years latter.
