  • Centre stand stop

My 79SF did not have a centre stand on it when I got it. Last night I decided to put one on from my spare bike. Current runner has 4 into 1 Jardine, no problem with fit but I am wondering if there is supposed to be a stop for the stand. On the left side it looks like it is running to high and the foot push sits about level with the rear peg. I don't have any exhaust on the spare bike and am wondering if the stock pipes, especially the left one functioned as a stop for the stand?

79SF left rear muff has a stop for center stand,
small metal bracket with round rubber bumper.

      Thanks MRO,

Thought it might have been on the stock pipes, couldn't remember. Maybe I'll fab up a stop or take it off. Not sure if I like the looks with no pipe there.

mro is correct .. on the 79F model the main stand stop is a rubber stopper that is attached to the underside of the muffler.

          Hi Egsols,

I don't know about the Jardine, but many four-into-one systems come with a simple "L" bracket with a rubber bung on the short leg to keep the stand off of the pipe.

That could also be made easily. My first new Kerker came with one.
