  • A short XS vid to help me make it through the coming winter

Rather than retype, here's what I wrote on youtube...

Winter is coming soon, and that means snow... and snow means no more motorcycling until the spring. That always sucks.

Just so I'd have something to watch when there's a blizzard outside later this year, I filmed some of my daily ride home from the office while it was still warm out. I'm hoping if I watch this in mid February it might help me make it through until Spring. Either that or it will drive me nuts with anticipation. Either way.

This is all handheld camera while riding, so it's a bit shakier than I'd like so I might make a better one sometime soon. Regardless... handheld camera while riding is of course NOT recommended.

(Music is Johnny Cash, Folsom Prison Blues)
I'd intended to shoot some more over the next few days but this might do the trick as is. Yes, I know the music masks the sound of the engine a bit... but I like Johnny Cash so sue me.

    Vid is here

        yeah,

I cringed for a second...you must have turned the camera a bit, thought you were gonna end the video from underwater!

              Very creative!

Not too shabby for a bloke who lives on a railway crossing

It's a beautiful part of the world there to be sure. What I've never understood is how come the early pioneers lobbed in Canada, looked around at all the snow, ice and glacial formations and thought, "Yep, this'll do us! Pitch the tent beside that igloo will ya Jebidiah?"

Never mind me, I'm still light headed after the chloroform the melanoma specialist gave me just before he dredged out my latest 'beauty spot'.

I'd like to do some filming one day, there's only two things stopping me, the lack of a camera and any artistic ability whatsoever.

              More power to you.

I made a vid but i cant get it to down load onto the puter. I mounted mine to the front of the bike. To many stop and go's for a one handed. But i did get some pics of the speedo at 65mph.

wait.....you're supposed to stop riding when it snows?

                      Who made that a rule?

I've been in more than one Hemisphere, and I wrote a book to help you do it too (or just prepare better for that week long road trip). Going Small, not just for the little guys.

Great video. I guess you don't want to hear about winters in Central Texas. "Cold" morning here is anything below 70. Last year we were on, and in the lake in late December. My winter riding gear from New Mexico is still collecting dust in the attic and I have no clue where my snow shovel went after I moved here.

                            very cool

Would live in AK if not for the snow. (I'm 1/4 Eskimo )
But have found that snow is nice to vist, but don't want to live in it.

Made a bracket to hold my camera on the G.
Did a few test runs around the shop, worked pretty good.
Right before I was ready to make a run up Niles canyon my youngest daughter was nice enough to let me know that the camera "just stopped working" , same daughter earlier this year FUBARED my still camera , that one she got to replace

                              Great Vid!!!

Your commute is much nicer than mine. Mine is in stop-n-go traffic.

So, how did you manage to run next to your bike to get all that footage?
