Do the XS1100 and the XS750 had the same size tires? Are they interchangeable?

Yes & no
Hi Grant,
front tires will swap, they are the same size, 3.50 x 19 old style or 100/90-19 metric equivalent.
XS750 rear tire is 4.00 - 18 vs the XS11's 5.00 - 16 (Special) or 4.50 - 17 (Standard)
so no, the rear tires won't swap because they are the wrong diameter.
But if you meant, do the WHEELS swap, well maybe. For sure the XS650 wheel swaps right in, it's the same wheel, so why not the XS750 wheel too?
The rear is a different diameter but will the splines fit & line up & will the larger XS11 rear brake disk fit on and line up with the caliper and is the axle the same size to allow you to use it anyway?
If you try it, let us know, eh?Fred Hill, S'toon

NO The tire size on the Specials may be the same, but the tires ARE different. The XS1100 is a HEAVY bike, and needs a tire that is rated to carry the weight.
The front tires are 100/90 or 110/90 on the XS1100, the same as the 750/850. The rear tire on the standard is a 130/90X17, and a 130/90X16 on the specials. You can buy front tires that look the same, but the maximum load on one will be 360lbs, and the other will be 480lbs, or more. Same with the rear tires, watch the "maximum" weight, and go for as high as you can find. My 17" rear is rated at 880 lbs.Ray Matteis

Hi Ray,
what with my bike hauling a sidecar and all, you had me worried to the extent I checked out the numbers on my XS11 front tire that I just swapped over from my XS650. It's a 100/90-19 Cheng-Shin Marquis and it sez on it:- "load range B. max load 505 lbs at 40 psi"
Then I checked the 3 other same size tires on the other bikes in my garage and they ALL said that, too. So I gotta ask, where to you find those frail 360lb tires?
And Grant, please tell us what you are planning so we can advise you in greater detail?Fred Hill, S'toon

Looking through the racks at the local shop. I have a GOOD tire place close to work. The shop name is Road Rider, but they carry almost everything for motorcycles, road, dirt, and HD. I was NOT positive on the exact numbers, but I DO remember the LOW number on a "cheap" tire!.Ray Matteis
