  • video or sound clip

i have done several searches and looked on you tube but i am trying to find a soundclip or a video of an xs going to redline. i would like to hear what it sounds like while riding. mine isn't even running yet and that is one of the best parts of biking to me. i have heard a few people blipping the throttle and some helmet cams but the helmet cams i have sen are only pulling to about 5k i would really like to hear it running down the road all the way to redline or at least most of the way to redline.

    Hey Yamahansolo,

    IF you'll follow this link:

You'll find my little wheelie video, but once there, you can also view my pathetic drag strip runs, where I crank it up to redline several times, just don't laugh(too hard) at my 1/4 mile times!

Also, check out this old advert by yamaha on You tube!

Here's a few you won't find on You-tube. The motor is basically stock, but it does have the 78 cams in an 82 motor and pod filters. Some idiot filmed all these while riding with one hand and holding a camera with the other.. ??? Remember that when see curves and hear shifting! lol.

First one is a little run up from @ 20-100mph on a motor I had just put together that day

This one is from a little bit earlier that day on a 5th gear run-up.. where my kid pulls out in front of me with MY car! lol. I was grabbing brake with hand and foot... and thought I might as well film the crash.. lol Sorry to disappoint.

I think this is the next day... just a fall cruise.

          http://s30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...=MyBike005.flv

This last one is kind of long, but it gets better towards the end.. you can hear those carbs singing to me.

None of these videos actually convey the speed that I was actually going... but since my speedo only goes to 85, I couldn't possibly have been doing any faster than that, right??!

I'm planning to shoot a vid this monday/tuesday but it won't be anywhere near redline. I'll likely post it here just the same though.

If anyone has more clips like trbig posted, please let us see them. It helps keep those of us with bikes in the shop motivated for the day the XS comes home.

^ Going to start shooting my ride home today, and continue over the next couple of days. I realize a ride home from the office doesn't sound great, but I ride such a great route... the only word I can ever think to describe it is "glorious". Just a great trip and I thought I'd like to document it so I can have something to revisit once the snow falls.

I'll post it here when it's done.
