Got the carb thing all straightened out, but have another one.

Occasionally, my tach, nuetral light, fuel gauge and turn signals are inoperative, and the brake light in always on. I checked all the connections from the instrument panel and cleaned and tighten them, as well as some that seemed related under the gas tank.

Any wiring guru point me where I should be looking?
I've been in more than one Hemisphere, and I wrote a book to help you do it too (or just prepare better for that week long road trip). Going Small, not just for the little guys.

The stock fuse block can cause such problems if not kept in good/clean condition.
Did you know that there's three connectors behind the fuse block? Tach recieves it's power from a white wire from the alternator. Think one of the plugs there also related to alt..., and have noticed that it's about the only plug I've ever found to get melted and give an intermitant problem.

There is a ground wire connector on the right side of the frame under the seat that will cause all kinds of strange things to happen to the brake lights/rear turn signals.....Bad grounds are a real nuisance and a bugger to find sometimes.

I think there was a post on cleaning up part of the electrical problem areas with a mod. Does anyone remember who had the improved design fuse blocks available for members for the 1100's.

I searched the forums and found some fuse box fixes under Modifications: Batt/Electrical but I think there was another one someone just came up with.

        Thanks

          Hey Lucky,

In the Mods section is this tech tip on replacing your fuseblock and at the bottom is the info you need to place an order!

I just got an M.O. from Fredintoon, but I have 1 left before I need to place another batch order from my supplier!

            Thanks TopCat,

Turns out that is the one already on the bike. I did not have any to compare with.
