A slight clicking, ticking noise from rear.

That sure sounds like the same thing.
As I understand this, it's the sleeve that the wheel brgs press in to that gets loose on it's mate to the wheel?
I wonder if that slight movement would cause the splines to bind a bit and make noise also.
Will have to check that out.
