  • Quick Float Level question..

When adjusting the float level on the carbs....do you need to REMOVE the float bowl gasket or do you set the levels with the gasket still in place? Im afraid I will tear all my gaskets to hell if I try to take them off.

        Hi Guys,

If you don't think the gaskets will survive, then just subtract the thickness of the gasket from the setting, and measure on top!

Theoretically not as accurate, but better than putting the carbs out of use totally!

However, I have always managed to get the gaskets off without damage..... Just take it sllooooooowwlyyyy!

These are the original gaskets so they are pretty "stuck". I'll try taking them off first....and if not...I'll just remove the thickness of the gasket from my specs. Thanks.
