can i move the rest or get a longer shifter.

Of course you can also reposition the shifter lever clockwise or CCW on the shift shaft to allow more room for your foot under it, depending on what angle you want your foot/toes to be at and still be able to pull up on the lever without overflexing your foot!

So...grandma, what big feet you have

Most of the time I wear steel toe work boots, size 10.
No problems.
