  • Wrinkle Paint Dilemna

Anyone have any suggestions on how to get wrinkle paint off of engine cases without ruining the metal beneath it? PO did the Hi Heat Black Wrinkle paint thing, just before he sold it to me. Now it's starting to peel in obvious locations and looks like %$*#!

I'd like to at least get it off the cases and start polishing them up.

spray stipper and a pressure washer. Unless you have one of those quarter car washes that charges 1.50 spray stripper the offending area and power wash off. Follow directions on the can.
I hate signatures. Too many cars and Bikes to list here.

Too bad they didn't prep it right. I saw an engine at Merriam Cycle that Bob was doing painted up with a wrinkle finish. It was real nice and I am thinking about doing that some time if I ever have to pull the engine out.

Wrinkle paint looks cool but is a PITA to clean. Dirt gets in all 123,649,087,483 wrinkles and it always looks dirty.

Can I get an AMEN?!!! It looked so nice two years ago, but now the powerplant is the eyesore on an otherwise clean bike. I have taken to marking over the blatant silver breaks with a Sharpie marker to camoflage the chips.
