It's been debated, but I think it was somewhere around 225 pounds. Not as heavy to ipick up as it is awkward. there's not any real good hand-holds. With the engine gone from my bike, it still weighs about the same as the next door neighbor's complete GSXR 1000! (Dry weight)... lol

Try your hardest to be the kind of person your dog thinks you are.
You can live to be 100, as long as you give up everything that would make you want to live to be 100!

Thanks for the quick reply. I have a parts bike for sale and someone has asked just for the engine so I was trying to figure out how much it would cost to ship. Any suggestions on a carrier? DHL FedX??
Thanks again

On a small pallet weight is approx 240 pounds with the pallet. To heavy for UPS,fedex, find the local truck freight yard near you. No oil, strapped to a pallet, have next owner pickup at truck freight yard. Usually price is $1.00 pound or more. No cheap way to ship stuff like that. Note shrink wrap engine or wrap with card board. declare value as worthless,(core) , no insurance, and freight charges are cheaper. andreas
The engine i received last fall arrived on a small home made skid with a frame and 1/8 inch thick panels on 2 sides only. It was purged for the shipping and the weight bill said 300 pounds. Given that the entire bike weights in at between 5 and 600 wet that weight is in the right range. The complete engine must be heavier then the rolling frame?
Rob
I have 4 engines in varying degrees of assembly and I can tell you that none of them weigh much over 200#. Remember that the frame of this bike is over designed and that the shaft drive assembly alone is probably 45#. I'd estimate the rolling chassis at 350# and the dry engine at 225#. Anyone out there can chime in and tell me whether they would rather try to pick up an engine or chassis, or whether they have weighed either.
