    Differences in Petcocks

    Hi,
I have a 79 xs1100F and want to rebuild the petcocks, but they seem to be different. Any Idea if they are supposed to be?

    "Different... different from what?"

Different from each other? Both should be the same.
Or different... meaning you've never encountered vacuum petcocks before?

xs 650 vacume fit, most of the time they make contact with the airbox, depending on the condition of you gas tank rubbers, that is why you might have differing units.

On the 79F the smaller vac line nipple should be facing forward out the front side of the petcock and be parallel to the side of the tank and be horizontal . The fuel outlet nipple should come out the back of the petcock 90 degrees to the side of the bike and be horizontal. The fuel nipples face each other.
