  • Valve Color

Pulled the exhaust system off of my bike for the first time since I’ve owned it to replace the gasket on the cross over pipe which started to leak. Looking at the exhaust vales I noticed that they range from light tan to a medium tan. Running lean? The bike runs great and the needles are already .020 up from stock. Take a look. Sorry for the fuzzy pictures

Really hard to say without knowing the history and current condition of the bike.
Valves look Ok... at least you don't have that cone of burnt, oily residue.
Valves are sort of self cleaning due to the heat. All the carbon in the exhaust port of that cylinder in the third pic shows that at one time, it was running very rich. (or maybe currently?)
Use your plug color for a better indication of lean or rich.

In my opinion tan exhaust valves are OK. Consider that every time they open they get blasted with 1200 degree heat being forced out by the rising piston. If they were oily or extremely black and sooty, that would worry me more.
