For those of you that remember, I'm ALMOST done with my bike. It's actually running now and I've put about 200 miles on it. However, I've done it all without first gear because it grinds accelerating in first and also doesn't like shifting out of Neutral (either way). I was reading up about the second gear fix going through the clutch instead of cracking the case and was wondering about doing a similar procedure for my issue. I have a set of gears and forks from eBay that I might be able to use in their place, or if someone knows of a place to get them new, I'm all for it.

When you see the prices... you'll probably be back on here to fix it yourself. Since you'll have it in your hand anyway to even swap it out.. a little Dremmel tool work and it will be done.
