  • 3K RPM issue

I am trying to resolve a wierd issue. Between 2800 and a hair over 3000 Rs, the BC has a bit of roughness under steady throttle and light load. The roughness may be there under thorttle passing through, but I may not be noticing it.

It's not a bad ruffle, just enough to be annoying. It almost feels and sounds as if the plugs were loading up. I pulled the plugs and they are all a nice even tan, but then again, the only time I really see this problem is getting in and out of my neightborhood (35 MPH).

Also, the Pipes are quite blue and always have been been. A Hardly Ableson owner suggested that the BC was running rich (Tan plugs say no, it isn't). But it may have with PO.

I always thought that blueing was a by product of high exhaust heat, which to my way of thinking points to lean mixtures.

sounds like it's happing right at the transision from idle/enricher circut to mains.

Does it happen when choke is pulled ?
If not would point to "lean" condition.

Pipes that got the blues (stock pipes) were at one point running lean, if not now.
Have read about after market headers that are thinner? than OEM and like to color right away.
