  • Backrest and luggage rack

    Hi all,
I just got back onto a XS1100SG after submitting temporarily to the V-twin madness.(Virago) I did not take long to be cured from that , though.
Anyway, now being back in the land of the performing bikes, I needed to find a backrest for my wife to come and enjoy the legendary bottom end of our bike of choice. Cindy gets easily migranes if she is tense, and a backrest will help her be relaxed on the back of my rocket.
I found a good one on Ebay, but it turns out to be for the 78,79 version, and does not fit on my 1980, because of the grab bar taillight arrangement.
Question is: Does anybody have one for my 1980, and is anybody interested in my 79 version?

      Hi Rob,
yes I do. here is the link to the page of the whole ebay transaction:
      http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...0426478&rd=1,1
Hope you can open it and see the images without a user name, let me know if there is a problem.
As you can see, the whole deal cost me about $100 by the time it was shipped and the Canadian GST had been extorted from me.
I hope to just recover my cost....
It is in pretty decent shape, chrome wise.
Except, some nut had cut a piece of vinyl out of the back as shown . But that is a 20min $10 fix, so no big deal in my view.
Let me knoiw what you think, Cheers, Jürgen

Thanks for the pic. I was hoping it would be one of the ones with the flat vertical ribs on the rack as compared to the tubular type.
        Thanks
