XJ original tires anybody want em?

Hey there check this out. So I recently changed over the original tires from the XJ to some new Bridgestone Spitfires. Anyway Ive been holding on to the older tires and not sure just what to do with them. They are the original tires. However they only have 1100 miles on them as this was how many miles were on the bike when i picked it up. The bike was stored indoors always and there does not appear to be any dry rot. Tread is all there and sidewalls are fine. Rubber still has some give to it but obviously not as supple as the fresh set now on the bike. Basically the tires are good just older. I dont know. I was just going to chuck them but being the original set I figured Id ask to see if anyone was interested in them for free of course. Im in Chicago would ship if someone paid for shipping. Maybe somebody is doing a rebuild and needs a set to throw on there temporarily until they buy a new set. I understand the possible saftey issue being an older set of tires thats why Im throwing it out there for you guys to decide.

It sounds like a great offer, but I don't know anyone on here that has an XS just to look at them... which is all those tires would be safe for doing. You might try Ebay first and see if you get any bites. Make sure you write them up as "Priceless, Rare, collectors item" or something similar.

It may be a reverse psychology thing like it is around here. If you set a washer and dryer on the curb with a sign that says "FREE" on them, they'll sit there from now on. If you write "$50 for set" on the sign, they'll be stolen that first night! lol. Good luck.

Check with the motorcycle museums! They would be about the only ones that may like actual orignal tires.
