If the bodies of the carbs are not broken in some way you may want to buy a complete set of new jets, chocks and floats. There is really no reason why the carbs you have can not be made to work with some addition work.

        I'm not even close...but

As a last resort you can ship em to me.
Will go thru em, then adjust and sync em on one of my bikes.
        Would make carbs useable.
Would cost you shipping and any parts needed only.

          BROWNBEAR listen.....

take a breath, sit down and do this...

          take your carbs off.
          let them drain.
          print/read the following
          http://www.xs11.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39
do the above to your carbs, re-install, find and use a sync gauge

          Hopefully this will help.

Doubt the boots are cracked all the way thru.
Not unusall for outsides to crack.
On my 80G, I filled the cracks with RTV, then after they dried I wrapped em with black electrical tape. Looks good from just a few feet away and has lasted over 18,000 miles.

If you think you have a vacuum leak...

check where boots attach to head, mine leaked there and I used some High Temp. RTV gasket sealer when I put the boots back on after I filled the cracks.

A sneaky place to get a vacuum leak is the caps on the carb boots. They can look OK but get hard and leak.......

Glad to hear your getting to ride.

The boots are over 10mm thick, they're actually rubber bonded over alloy, the common surface cracks aren't an issue
