i tried to find a sticky 17 tire but no luck,
so i put a 80 special rim on ,you have to havethe spacer and brake brackets from the special to make it work. got a dunlop
501 130 /90/16 the widest that would fit.
    man what a improvement.

let me know what you guys think for tires

    That's ONE!

    Okay Bill,

That's 1 of 3 strikes for you....trying to start another tire thread!
You'll get another one for either an OIL or GAS thread!

Just do a search for "tires" and you'll be inundated with threads and opinions galore! Glad you found one you liked, hope it lasts as long as you want, cause usually the stickier the tire, the less mileage you'll get out of it! Egads.... look at me responding to this.....must....put....the.......keyboard.....dow n!

        Bill,
Pay no attention to the T.C. behind the curtain....

Tires are hard to find at the moment. I run a 17" on my '79, and like the eliteII Dunlops. Problem is, they are hard to find at the moment, and the III's are NOT out yet because of the strike.
There have been a LOT of discussions about tires, but they all come down to what YOU like.
