Kickstarter Compatibility?

Hey, I recently traded for a basket case 1981 XS 1100. I've had it running for about 2 months until recently. The starter is completely burned out. I do plan on replacing the starter, but I was wondering if any earlier kickstart gears will work on my bike.

Sorry Saint,

But unless you're into pulling the engine from the frame and SPLITTING THE CASES, you won't be able to just ADD a kickstarter to your machine, there's nothing behind the clutch cover. So....you'll need to rebuild or replace your starter soon, or find a nice hill to roll down to push start it!
