  • Mail order carb kits

I need to mail order a set of carb kits for my 78. I had installed a set of 4 this winter and I need to replace them with a good quality kit....anyone know a dependable supplier. Thanks Guys as always Bruce

Oh, ran out of gas today a first, fellow came along picked me up got my gas and brought me back! The bike has an awesome topend but lowspeed is finicky. Got 158 Kms before the tank went dry very pleased with the power of this motor! In 5th the throttle is barely open!!

So far have not had to replace any parts on 78/79's.
Might try bikebandit, stuff I've got from them has been good so far.

I bought carb kit capital kits . Full ones ....

The needle jet did not look usable , idle mixture screws tips were off center from the body of the screw ....

I thought they were easily still worth it for the main and pilot jets , needle valves/seat , gasket ...
            cant go wrong ....
the idle mix screw possibly could be turned on a lathe if you wanted to ....

              Hi Doug

Hi Doug, oil consumption too early to tell but it doesnt appear to be dropping, only have 200 kms on the engine to date and ran out of gas yesterday, the bike is a demon on the road emensely strong engine I would take on any XS and probably lose him, bragging yeah but its potent.....problems are on the low end of the power range I suspect the kit is a K&L kit not sure but I'm gonna buy a better kit and go from there.....on vacation right now Doug via the car till next Friday so may not get to order this kit unless I use carbcapital kits.com......cant Xplain why I ran out of gas maybe cruising at 140 will do that......its odd, your doing 140 with this bike and on a straightaway and the throttle is barely open, go figure and the motor isnt even startin to work? I dunno what the previous owner did to the engine but he spent money on an aftermarket clutch, stainless exhausts. koni shocks ....all I know is the bike can haul! Wish I were goin to Atlanticade but the ladyfriennd wont ride so......Will drop into Fredricton this summer doug once I get my carbs settled down....this time I will install the kits myself....will still ride till I get them just have to keep an eye on the gas level.....its funny the petcocks were set on main not reserve when I ran out, I'm thinking the fuel towers in the tank may be on in reverse.
              Later Guys, Summer is here
