  • I got'em, now I don't, I got 'em, now I don't....lights

    Hi folks

I have an 82 XJ 1100 and my problem is the lights. I've checked to see if there's current going to the lights and there seems to be...then there's not. In other words I have all the lights working and then they don't. Could the problem be in the switch on the handle bar or could it be buried somewhere else within? How much is involved in taking apart the handle switch and what should I be looking for, if in fact it is the switch to begin with or is there another area I should be checking also?

    Thanks in advance....

    Hey AirCon,

First, pull your right side cover off, and pull the glass fuse completely out, and test it with a meter. Secondly test the brass clips that hold the fuse in place, see if they are loose or cracked and about to break! Then, IF the fuse is good, and the clips are good, and testing it with a meter shows good, then you could check out the handlebar switch, wires have been known to come unsoldered, and you could get lucky and just need to resweat them!?
