spark problem

have spark on #1 #3 #4 . #2 cylinder will spark if i hold the spark plug wire about a half inch. for engine block. If I put a spark plug on the wire and hold it against the block and it will not spark the plug. so it has spark but it will not jump the gap on a plug. tryed several spark plugs thanks heed some help

Steve, you may have a problem with the plug. Have you tried switching the plug to another cylinder?

Hi Steve,
swap plugs & wires between #2 & #3
Then swap just the wires.
Then swap just the plugs.
If during any of these swaps #2 cylinder fires up & #3 cylinder don't you have found the problem.
If #2 don't run regardless of what ignition component you swap, clean #2 carb.
I wasted an entire week fussing over my ignition before a re-clean on #4 carb fixed the supposed spark problem.

Cost nothing to

remove plug cap, clean both ends...
Cut off about 1/4 inch of plug wire and reinstall cap.
