  • How do I determine what bearing I need?

Main and rod bearings are listed in colors, how do I determine which color I need? someone said there is a number on the crank and a number on the case and I subtract the two. Is that true?how do I convert the number to a color? Will the dealer have any of this information?
    Thanks for your help

Do I need 5 main bearings (1 set per journal)
      or 10 bearing halfs?

        Drichey,

For a full set, you'll need 9 plain bearing halves and 1 thrust bearing half. Total 10 halves for the 5 mains The center main has the thrust bearing in the top half.

Some of the thrust bearing colors are discontinued, but BikeBandit has most of the bearings available. Full set is about $140.00. When you find out the colors you need, PM me. I have a complete NOS bearing set and will give you a good deal on a full set.
