    i see the section on how to re-seat the rubber on the master cylender slide thingy, but how do i get that metal peice (slide) out? i cant see how its possible. any help?

    You need a very long tipped O-ring/snap ring pliers to get to it. Many times it's very corroded and hard to see that it's down there inside the tunnel. MikesXS sells one specially for this purpose, but folks have gotten a set of very long needle nose pliers and ground the tips to fit the snap ring.

      i go at it from the right side of the master?

        You go in around the shaft of the plunger. Spray some cleaner in there and pick out as much corrosion and spooge as possible so you can find the holes of the circlip that needs to come out. When you find it, depress the plunger slightly to take the pressure off the back of the circlip and it will come out a whole lot easier.

          does the front brake lever/hose, go to the right of left caliper on the front of the xj?....( i would look if i was at home, yes, i realize it is that easy)
