    Forgot to say that no grinding should have been neccesary to start with you can get for a good price different size rubbers for the shocks from you local shock & suspension outlet....they should have the same rubbers but with differ inner size dia. holes....

    just another short tip..for next time....(I also used HD shocks on mine)

      Hi Kurt,

      I have H-D shocks on one of mine; just changed out the bushes.

      If you grind flat the broken end, then punch, drill and Tap a hole to M8 (or so!) you can then use a bolt and washer to retain the shock. Neat, easy, and no welding!
