  • Eliminate the OCTY

I have seen some info on this subject but can not find it all in one place. I would like to consider eliminating the OCTY.
    1) How is it best to cap off the forward petcock tube? The forward one is the prime? I have read some previous suggestions but can't find them again.
    2) What do I do with the vacuum line currently connected to the OCTY?
    3) I also intend to install a backup shutoff valve due being a bit paranoid about the petcocks leaking.
    4) Would per thread suggeestions, route the left petcock fuel line to the right carbs and v/v.
And any thought, comments or further suggestions on anything that I have forgotten to make this work.

Front nipple is prime, just cap it with a neoprene cap. Not rubber.
Cap the vacuum line at the source with a vacuum cap.
The '79 SF has an "OFF" position, no need for more shut off if your petcocks are working. There are rebuild kits for that.
I see no need for crossing the fuel lines.
Just keep the lines smooth and not too long, should be no problem.
