  • Removing kick starter

I'm doing the 2nd gear black and decker fix on my 79SF. I'll never use my kick start, so I'd like to just remove it. Can I just pull everything internally including the three bolt flange then plug the crankcase cover? If so, is anyone interested in swapping the kick start parts for the corresponding plug for the case? Thanks, Tommy

I didn't have the lever anyhow so when I did the 2nd Gear fix, I left out the internal gears for the kickstart mechanisim. I wasn't comfortable with a simple plug in the case so I left the spindle inplace and covered the outside splines with a rubber cap.

Works fine, lasts a long time...
