ENGINE: Back In the Frame

Anyone with some tips on getting the engine mounting points lined up for the bolts? The engine is now back in the frame of my XS11 LG and we're wrestling with many of the mounting points.

1. Which one do we start with?
2. Is there one that seems to work best for reinstallation?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I do it with a bottle jack. Just protect the oil pan by having a block of wood between the small head of the jack and the pan.

Thing called a "drift pin".
Like a large tapered punch,
stick in a hole to align it or one next to it.

Can sometimes use large round shaft screw driver.

Take your time with it and jostle it around with a jack or sissor jack like Rob mentioned' youll get it....get your rods and frame mounts doesnt matter what order...dont wrench anything tight until all the bolts are in place correctly....(Oh by the way Rob my timing was out 180 deg as well) I'm now on the road)

Oh forgot to mention I just swapped motors in my 78 over the last couple months......the actual install was about 3 hrs

Rubber boot

Oh Rennicks forgot to mention this but pull back and tie-off as far as you can the rubber boot that goes around your universal drive joint....it can get torn by the coupling during install dont ask me how I know tighten your coupling bolts pretty tight as well as they say here on the south shore....." Come horny on to her!"
