  • New SS Brake Lines for '82 XJ1100

I recently replaced the stock brake lines on my '82 XJ1100 with stainless steel lines. They were ordered through CycleBrakes.com (in Ventura, CA) and manufactured to specification by Galfer. The difference in braking is amazing - quite worth the investment, in my mind. If anyone has questions, send me a note or just talk to Ed at CycleBrakes. He was very helpful. Mind you, the new lines came only after I solved the problem of the calipers not releasing (basically, I disassembled the calipers and master cylinders as completely as I could, cleaned everything at least twice, and made sure the little demonic spooge holes were clear). The brakes are working great and I'm once again a happy rider.

How much did these run you?
1984 XJ1100 - 79 cams, XS850 FD, XS triple tree/euro cafe bars, hydraulic clutch, bar end mirrors, yamaha R1 rear mono-shock
    1972 CL350 - clubmans, Mike's XS coils/condenser, '98 Yamaha R1 rearsets (If I can find some at a decent price)

Does the company have all the dimensions and angles for the banjo's? Are the banjos angled and stainless as well? Banjo bolts replaced? Are the stainless lines covered with a clear vinyl. Did you remove or eliminate the hard line between the master and the fork?
