I know this is probably a long shot, but does anyone happen to know the temp. of there exhaust at the header bend (right off the head it bends down)? I am tuning my carbs and I don't have ear for it if you know what I mean, so I am tuning them by temp. I am assuming a good temp is between 200-250 deg. F. it seems to run ok and does not smell rich, but I was just curious what temps other bikes were running at. I am taking the reading after about a two mile ride then stop and idle and take the temp as quickly as possible.

The exhaust temp is going to vary dramatically based on ambient temp and airflow over the header. I would say that the best bet would be for someone with a well tuned XS and an infrared thermometer kindly step up and measure the temperature while idling. Unfortunately I don't have that particular tool.2010 Kawasaki Z1000
