Extra Wire on New battery

Hi All,

I bought a replacement battery from Yamaha for my XS11 and on it there is a wire attached to one of the yellow fill screws.
The wire has a rounded female electrical connector on it as well.

Does the XS11 need to have this wire attached to something?
I have been looking through out the area and have not seen any loose wires, nor did the old battery have this wire.

That would be for a battery sensor like on the XJ Maxim. Not needed on an XS.
