    Greetings All,
I was taking the tank off my xj and when I pulled the gas lines off, one of the brass tubes came out of the petcock. (Each side!) Are these just pressure fitted? I thought about using a little gas rated teflon paste and just push it back in but wanted to check with the pros.
    TIA

Had the same thing happen to my XJ a couple years ago. Once the tank was off (2nd gear fix) I just pushed them back in and a couple taps with a plastic hammer and have been just fine since then. Have had the fuel lines off a couple times since then and the tubes stayed in place.

Mine does the same thing occasionally. Like Cruiser said... just gently tap them back into place.

Dontcha hate it when that happens?

        Hi Kevin,
two replies that say just tap 'em back in. Hey, if that works, it works. When ol' belt'n'braces here had that happen on one of my XS gas taps I washed the tap body and the spigot with acetone, smeared the spigot with 5-minute epoxy and then tapped it back in. 5 years & it ain't come loose again yet.
