Help with xs1100 exhaust gasket size

    Greetings all,

If anyone has an exhaust gasket to hand (the ring seal that goes in the head to seal the header pipe to the head) I would be grateful if you could measure it and give me the outside diameter.

I don't have a bike with me but want to try to find some suitable gaskets from a loose selection of various sizes that I have access to.

    thanks in advance
    Bruce

      Hi xschop.

Thanks a lot for the reply.

      37mm I.D.
      45mm O.D.

Could I ask are you measuring a new gasket or a used one - I'm just asking as 8mm seems like a pretty thick wall and I'm wondering if it might have compressed down a bit to close up the ID a bit - but then its several years since I've had any pipes off so its very likely my memory is faulty. Regardless, its the OD thats most important........

      thanks again

        not 8

4mm (8/2).... the xs11 exhaust port has even more width from exhaust exit to outter gasket seal....plenty for smashing

Thanks mate, the clarification is much appreciated - yep 4mils sounds about right according to memory. In that case I'll look around and see what odds and sods I can see just a bit under that 45 od.

          thanks again,
          Bruce

I'm sure a 46 or 47 would even work... they are really loose in the ports when new. I wouldn't go smaller than that.
