thanks to all of you, especially snow, bike is running good now, except for the fact that last night the head light was going in and out, i had to push on the fuse box to get it to come back on, so i need to check the wireing. thanks to all, once again. more to come soon i am sure.

Get yourself a soldering gun (much quicker with thick wires), decent electric solder, some zipties, and 4-5 (depending how many are on an XJ) inline blade fuses - you should have em for a couple bucks each in your store. Then spend 45 minutes cafeully cutting out the old connectors and soldering in the new blades. Others say to use crimp connectors as solder weakens with vibration...but I like the smell

I did my brother's fuses a couple weeks ago - it's not a horribly bad job to do. Also, I tried to keep as much stock wiring as possible and as little fuse wiring as it is a lot thicker and harder to fit. Oh, and use the zipties to mount the blades to the plastic fuse holder. I used two each fuse.

As a side note - I look at *trying* to give good advice here like playing my favorite video game, Counter-Strike. In CS, I try to keep a 3:1 Kill to death ratio. Here I *try* to give at least 3 bits of good help with nore more than 1 bit of bad advice... hopefully I can get my ratio higher

I think Prometheus has a similar goal - to give 5 scathing, yet hilarious remarks per 1 slightly suggestive innuendo
