  • correct oil?

After reading many posts, I decided to change my oil with Castrol GTX 20W50.
I bought it from Walmart. This is auto oil...did I buy the right stuff? Do I need motorcycle oil?

    thanks, Keith

    Keith,

What you got is the right stuff. If you'll notice, there isn't anything in the lower? half of the seal/sae that says friction modifiers, so it's safe for our wet clutches. Many of us use that, but others use several other brands.....dont' get US started on another OIL THREAD!

NO NO...let's DO get started on another oil thread!

Nothing better for the 'ol blood circulation than a flame war. I started out using Yamalube....then switched to Mobil 1...then went to GTX and onto Valvoline 4 stroke motorcycle oil.

Now I'm using Canola Cooking oil. These Elevens will burn anything.

OK don't start the oil thing. The real question is what type of tires to run.... (ducking and running away..)

              Yamalube

So what is wrong with Yamalube? Cost? I have never used anything else.

Nothing is wrong with Yamalube, or any "motorcycle" oil really, it's just that many don't believe the hype about it being any different than what you can buy for a diesel or car.

If it works, you're happy with it, and you don't mind paying for it... no arguments.
