I am assuming by your post you are checking all of them before you remove the cams to estimate what you need then you remove the cams and do all of them and remeasure after you install the cams to ensure you used the right shims.

If you end up getting the Motion Pro tool you may have to modify it a little . thats explained somewhere else on this site. I got one and was bummed out untill I found that help on the site. AND MANY MORE .. Its a tedious job without pulling the cams, i must have rotated my crank a million times but years ago I tried a valve job and put the cams in backwards (major mistake) Years ago and the finally straw after months of ignorant attemps at a restore . Thats before this site even existed and that motor is still somewhere in a dark place in my garage. Glad I keep it now.I used some of its valve shims on ny current pride and joy and feel I owe all the credit to this site for my good luck. Hope you enjoy the same.
Thanks, I guess the cam removal is definately the way to go. Next thing I'll be looking for is a repalcement for the Krauser bags I lost a long time ago...
