  • Rejetting for K&N Upgrade

The bike is running much better than I expected now that I've changed out the lame K&L pilot jets with good ones from the local dealer. I even got to do a burnout to win a bet with the co-workers (I needed a new tire anyway).

Anyway, now that I have the bike running as it should be with all stock parts, it's simply a requirement to think about the next upgrade right?!?

After looking around the forums here I'm thinking about putting in a single K&N filter in the original airbox and drilling the holes in the bottom.

Other posts mention that if you do this you usually bump up the jets 2 sizes. I just wanted to ask if there's anyone out there that's done this? How well does it work? I'm assuming you jet up both the pilots and the mains 2 sizes each, is that correct?

Just wanted to ask for some advice from everyone that's messed around with this before.

    Thanks!

I swapped over to K&N and drilled airbox without having to mess with jetting. Watch out where you drill the airbox, air flows into the middle of the the filter and out into the airbox.
