Paint Repair

I know it's a long shot but is their anyone who carries touch-up paint for the XS1100's?? (I have a 78E in Macho Maroon )

I recently became the proud owner on a 78E and am in the process of fixing her up. I got her from the family of the original owner. He bought it new in 1978. In 1992, he parked it in his garage where it sat until I got it. In 2003, he bought a Harley Springer and prefered to ride that.

I got it running from an auxiliary tank. I need a fuel sending unit gasket and petcock seal. Once I get these, I can install the tank and get her out on the road.

Try these guys http://www.colorrite.com/ . I bought some New Yamaha Black from them for my 80LG and it matched perfectly. They carry everything you will probably need. If you happen to know the paint code you can search by that and the cross reference to their paint will come up.

Cajun, for your midnight, did you use their black for anything other than the tank, fenders, and side covers? what is their code for the black? how did you refinish the 'black chrome' pieces like the headlight bucket, bars, forks/ears, etc.?

Also, what is the best match for the 'plated gold' pieces?

Finally, I know you've reasearched the nebula gold and found a close match. can you share what you've found and are you happy with the results?

Cool they even have Carmine Red paint for my 1979 Special.

not to toot my napa horn again, but that is what i do here at the napa in maine, is mix paint/paint match. so if any of you need touch up paint and know the paint code feel free to get ahold of me and i will mix you up a bottle/spray can, whatever you need, for cheap, and send it to you.

The New Yamaha black code is 006G and the Colorrite corresponding code is 5516. The Nebula Gold I have not found. Maybe frogdink can help us with that. As for the Gold plated pieces you can look at Caswell for kits to do that yourself http://www.caswellplating.com/kits/plugnplate.htm . I actually painted the black chrome pieces like the headlight bucket etc.. I am running a 4 into 1 kerker exhaust rather then stock. I have the stock exhaust and I am thinking about doing the ceramic finish for them.
