    Turbulance...

I have run into some nasty crosswinds at high speeds. The crosswind isn't so bad, but passing a big rig in those conditions can be exciting. First the wind is very turbalnt, then suddenly no crosswind makes the bike dive toward the truck and if you can get through that part, the sudden and amplified crosswind as you go through the wind he is parting when you pass the front will almost blow you into the next lane or off the road. Wide handle bars are a necessity so you can muscle it around in those conditions.
You can't stay young forever, but you can be immature for the rest of your life...

          Hi planedick,
have heard a few tails about the Santa Ana winds

Few weeks back making a run thru Vasco Road (wind mill farm area) cross wind 30 to 50 mph. As I came out of a cut in a hill which is a right hand curv (only going 75MPH) got hit from the right side with a blast of wind which would not let me lean into it any more than I had enter the turn. Let up on the throttle and it started to push me and the bike up

Glad turn did not tighten, would have been in deep dodo
