  • Oil cooler...

I purchased an oil cooler and it has an adaptor plate with both hoses coming out side by side on the front. I had a different one on the '79 that had the hoses mounted on opposite sides. I thought this one would work, but the fittings for the tubes and hoses have to go right through the lower frame crossmember.

Does anyone know what model this cooler is for?

If it fits yours, it's for sale and/or if you have one for a '78 E model that you would like to sell............

If it's an OEM-type cooler plate then it's off an XS850.
It can be modified to work but you'll have to modify the lines.
Another lister here cut off the metal tubes and brazed a ridge on the end of the tube to hold a rubber line on.

      Noroom

There is no room to do anything there. It's just too close to the frame member.

Can you post a pic, Dick? That may help ID the plate.
That was me that brazed a ridge on the cut steel lines for an 850 cooler setup.

              lockhart?

that's probably a lockhart one. Sounds like the one on Bluestreak. The PO has 145 deg brass fittings that route the oil lines past the frame there....I am currently looking for an extra cooler base for a diff Mod....

Yes, I did, and then routed the hoses up along the frame rails.
