  • Cyclerecycle petcock rebuild kit?

I just ordered the petcock rebuild kit PETKIT-2697 from Cyclerecycle along with some carb bits - does anyone know if this kit is for one or two petcocks? It was about $37 and I'm hoping it is for two...

Watch out how much cash you throw at rebuilding petcocks. The whole OEM unit sells for about 90 bucks and is not showing as discontinued on bike bandits list.

      Fuel tap repair

I just bought a kit :K&L 18-5100 or FCK 25 (both numbers on the package) from a local dealer for 27.95. It's actually not the same brand as yours but it does include all the Orings, the hard valve gasket and a vac diaphram which is apparently for the Octopus. (indigineous to the Special) Now, the parts guy told me it was for one petcock only but ..... it is for both sides for sure PLUS the O-pus. I didn't think that was too bad. Got a good deal on the petcocks which I needed pretty badly as I had none to start with.

Mine is an SF though, a different style petcock, with one less part than a Std fuel cock, BUT for comparitive purposes, and without researching too far, it seems like you probably got enough stuff on the way for both sides. One would hope.

        They will do both sides

The kit you ordered will definitely do both sides.

Unfortunately, the K&L kit they sent me only has parts for one petcock :/

I bought mine at LeBard & Underwood in LaHabra CA. 714.879.8252.

Now the Standard kit has more and different stuff than the Special kit too. Here's a link to PartsnMore in Canada ... pretty good source on some things.
