Is there an easy way to replace a starter clutch in a 1981 XS1100SH?

Yep, Give the bike to me and then go buy another one . Sorry had to mess with the new guy. I think the answer is no. You have to split the cases so no easy way. Are you sure its bad? Not running synthetic oil are you? Or oil with friction modifers in it? Those have been known to cause both clutch and starter clutch problems. If I remember right a good oil change with regular dino juice did correct the problem for some folks. Good luck

      What he said ---^

Once the cases are split, it's a simple, 5 minute job...the problem is pulling the motor and splitting the cases...
