  • What is the correct size of vacuum line?

I know that seems like a basic question, but with my recent idle and choke problems it's something I feel compelled to ask.

The vacuum lines on my bike are new, but I only copied the size line that was already on there. Things I have found since I started this rebuild lead me to believe that the PO was pretty incompetent at mechanics - and if I can spot that then the situation had to be pretty dire.

So what size line will allow my bike to suck - not like now, but in a good way - while still properly sealing?

The vacuum lines, and the caps for the unused vacuum ports is 3/16 inch. You can buy regular automotive vacuum caps that are about 1 inch long, and leave them that length or cut them to your liking.
