the screw between the carbs 1 and two move both butterflys.Watch what it does when you turn them on the bench.
tough to see on the bike ....
same with three and four , then the screw between 2 and 3 carb
will align symataniously 1,2 to 3,4... sort of ...
    hope that makes scense....

        throttle cable

Is the throttle cable and the 90 degree bend below the handle bar a complete assembly? My cable is fine but where the bend goes in the throttle handle it has broken. You also have a little
bit of adjustment on this piece.

In the parts list, it shows it as all one assembly. Do you know about this site? It's Yamaha's parts list. Just click on the "Proceed to parts catolog" at the bottom. Put in the info to your bike..

I don't know how much the throttle cables are, but they make aftermarket ones for the clutch and choke pretty cheap. I know all this little stuff keeps adding up, but that's one thing you will definately need.. lol. I can ride quite a ways with a broke clutch cable... it's a bit dicey with the throttle linkage messed up. (Yes I have had to tie a string to the linkage before.. lol. But no, not on this bike.)

                  XJ carburator

I have tryed all that was recommended except pulling off the
carbs which is what my next step is. The air breather has fuel
in it so I tryed to tap all the bowls in case the float is sticking
on one of them. Geting frustrated with it now so I guess the
best thing for me to do is stay away from it for a while. This is the
last thing I have to do except bleeding the MC for rear brakes.
I will post pictures of how it looks now tomorrow.
