Carb bracket

A while back I mentioned that I had made a bracket to take the load off the intake boots while running pods. So, I thought I should take and post a pic.

Looks good.
No such bracket on my hot rod which has a set of the KN ovals.

Wonder if anyone has ever had a problem with the carbs from using pods???

I decided to do it after watching the carbs vibrate slightly while it was running. I could see the small surface cracks on the intakes flexing. Then I started thinking about the shock of bumping riding. At almost $100 a set, I want my intakes to last as long as possible.

don't smoke crack

Have not got around to it yet,
but plan to get some heavy duty shrink tube and try to cover an old set I've been saving.

Should be better than tape and seamless too.......
After 17,000 miles on my tape repair (80G) still looks OK tho.

I am very interested in learning more about the shrink tube possibility - do you have any links to the product?

Shrink tube

Granger has it.
Would imagine can be had at most industrial supply houses.
May be able to find in a good hardware store, but most places do not carry the larger size you would need for the boots.

would seal cracks w/rtv first, then tube it.

I took a different approach with mine, but WTF, the carbs are off again & soaking right now so I can re-think, right?
OK, bottom end picks up on a carb rail screw but where's the top end attached?
