  • Scissors Jack Motorcycle Lift mods?

I picked up one of the usual 70 dollar scissors jack type of motorcycle lift that you pump up with a hydraulic foot pedal. I am wondering what others have done to modify this so the XS will be able to make use of it. I can see right now that the oil filter body will be in the way. Posting some pics of said mods would be even better. I'm envisioning some 2x4's placed on the rubber pad area?

I also have one of those jacks and with the oil filter, exhaust and main stand off the only way to lift the 11 is with one leg of the stand right between the side stand and main stand brackets and the other leg toward the front of the frame.
I am sure that something made of wood can be rigged up so as to make this jack usable when the bike is in full trim. However a metal frame that sits on the jacks legs with upward pins and frame tube sized saddles would be better and can likely be welded up easy enough.

I usually find places to shim with old wood shingles. you kinda have to play with it for a while to get the balance right. I find that a jack stand underneath the front cross member wil hold the front end up. The center stand holds the back end up.

Looks like a normal garage at first...
An old phone on the shelf, a coupla' packs of new doorknobs....
But there is something menacing here, children.
Note how the XS is parked... blocking the refridgerator.
The blood stain on the floor... leading to the fridge where the body is stashed.
This photo should have been in the "garage" thread. This is how a garage should be, but one of those big "deep freeze" freezers is better for storage.

Ditto on the Hockey Pucks. I have one of those jacks I've never used it for the XS, But I use Hockey pucks on it to lift my 99 Venture.
