I found in the parts list that a gasket is supposed to be used.
P/N 15635.001 for the middle and rear drive fill plugs.

My rear fill plug was plugged with a plastic thing I need to replace...

I cant find the middle drain plug yet ...???

I think the "gasket" is more like a thin metal washer and that is what was under my plug when she was a bitch. Nylon washers are the way. There might be a spot that needs trimmed to fit against the housing as it is tight. It will depend on the selected washer (if you go that route).

The crush washer from a sparkplug will also work. The only trick is to go easy on the torque when you put it in, just like a sparkplug.

The middle gear drain plug is located on the underside of the engine, in the rear, just between the centerstand mounts. It is a 19mm hex head. Make sure you can get the fill plug out before draining it though.

That plug is where the factory drilled the main oil galley that supplies the crank with oil. It is threaded in. The other side of it is under the alternator cover. If you should removethe alt you will see a plug with a point on it. It is only pushed in and held by the alt cover. DO NOT run the engine with the cover off. The plug will shoot out and make one hell of a mess.

Not trying to turn this into an OIL thread, but hope you've done some reading and searching regarding the use of SYNTHETICS in these old machines!?!? Could become even more expensive having to change it again soon to put in DINO juice vs. thinking you've developed a slipping clutch problem?
